At Condor Test Weights we take crane test weight hire seriously and always strive to provide you with the very best hire equipment possible. We have compiled a product list of items for hire, to help you choose the right testing gear for you:
Crane Test Weights for Hire Hand weights 20kg cast iron crane test weights embossed with “20kgs”. Hand weights have a carrying handle for ease of handling and transportation. They can easily be loaded into confined spaces, or carried upstairs by one person. Slab weights All slab weights are approximately 1 metre square base size. These crane test weights are fitted with a central lifting eye capable of lifting up to 10 tonnes. All slab weights can be hoisted by crane, or lifted by fork lift truck. Cradles for Hire The cradles can be used empty or filled with the 20kgs hand weights to achieve the desired weight for your test application. Lifting Beam for Hire A lifting beam is used to link crane test weight stacks together to achieve a greater weight capacity, up to a maximum of 20 tonnes. Some more information about lifting beams: • Side by side the weights must be of equal size, for example to lift 20 tonnes you would use 4 off 5 tonne slab weights, 2 on each side linked with the lifting beam. • The most weight you can lift per single stack is 10 tonnes. • For greater capacities than 20 tonnes you would use two lifting beams, linked to a cross beam. This will then lift 40 tonnes of crane test weights. • For even greater capacities, we have special cradles that can be loaded with up to 70 tonnes of Slab weights. Linking Set for Hire The linking set is used when the crane hook is too big to fit into the lifting eye on the slab weight or the shackle of the lifting beam. By using a linking set, event the largest crane hook can be accommodated. The alloy bow shackle goes onto the lifting eye or shackles, this then couples with the oversize master-link and in seconds the test weights are compatible with your crane hook.
